About new Life
We are so glad that you stopped by to look at our website. We meet every Sunday morning at 9:00 and 11:00. We have Life Groups that meet throughout the week at various times and locations. More information on those can be found under the Life Groups page located here.
We think the best way to describe New Life is with the word family. So please feel free to come join us and be a part of our family!
Meet the New lIfe Staff
Ezell Nelson: Lead Minister
Hello! I am Ezell Nelson and I am the Lead Minister of New Life Christian Church. I was raised at New Life and love working here. I returned to Chickasha in 1996 to serve as the youth minister. It was a dream of mine to get to come home and work with the church that had invested so much in me. I was fortunate to work with the minister who started this church and who was my minister. When he retired in 2004, I was asked to be the Lead Minister. I am married to my lovely wife Anita and we have 2 kids together. Olivia and Bearton have taught us so much about God's grace and his mercy in our lives. I enjoy hunting, atv's, and most outdoor activiities. The one thing that people might not know about me is that I truly dislike eggs, unless they are in a cake or cookies.
Dexter Blancett: Youth Minister
Dexter and his wife Erin came to serve at New life in May 2012. Dexter's goal is to bring the students into a close and ever-growing relationship with their Savior and teach them how to live a life that honors Jesus. He hopes to empower them with the Gospel in a way that transforms their lives and the lives of those around them. This will be accomplished through lessons, events, and living everyday ilfe with them. He wants to work on getting support for the youth from the church as a whole in many different ways. He says "I cannot emphasize enough how important it is that students have those older than them who are willing to help guide them through their lives and through their relationship with Christ.
Anita Nelson: Childrens Minister
Anita has degrees from Manhattan Christian College in Manhattan, Kansas, and University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Anita has been on staff since 1996 and has been in her current position since 2009. She is married to Ezell Nelson and they have two children, Olivia and Bearton.
Taylor Henderson: Worship Leader
I started worshiping God at a very young age. From the day I was born, my parents had me in church and I was expected to be there. I was saved at the age of 9 at Children's Camp in the Quartz Mountains. I was always plugged in with various youth groups and God always seemed to be using me in some way. I met my future wife Jacklyn in my senior year at Chickasha High School. I've been blessed to be the worship leader and youth minister at several Churches. God eventually led Jackie and I to New Life. After much praying and deliberating, it was clear that God wanted me at New Life leading worship. I currently own and operate a gym in town as well as lead worship at New Life. God has never failed to provide me with everything I need and more. A fun little fact....at one point in time I owned three Porsches.
Merita Beaty: Administrative Assistant
Merita became a part of the New Life staff in August 2014. Merita
graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1977 with a degree in dental
hygiene. After 37 years as a dental hygienist she retired from dentistry
but took the opportunity when God opened the door to serve at New Life as
secretary. Merita is married to Dennis and they have three grown children and six
What We Believe
Mission Statement: New Life Christian Church exists to honor God, serve others, and share the good news of His love.
We believe that the following items are essential truths and they help to form our Statement of Faith. These items can not and will not change. They form the core belief system at New Life.
We believe in one God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 5:16, 45, 6:1, 4, 8, 9; James 1:17; John 1:1, 14:9; Genesis 1:2; John 4:24, 14:16-20; 2 Peter 1:21)
We believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of all things visible and invisible. (Genesis 1:1; Acts 17:24-28; Hebrews 11:3)
We believe in Jesus Christ, God's one and only Son, our one and only Savior. (John 1:14; 1 John 4:9; John 3:16; 2 Peter 3:18)
Who was born Jesus of Nazareth, both fully human and fully divine, conceived of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary. (Matthew 21:11; John 1:14, 19:19; Romans 5:15-17; Colossians 2:9; 1 John 1:1; Matthew 1:18, Luke 1:26-38
Who suffered and was crucified under Pontius Pilate. (Luke 23:1-46)
Who died and was buried, and Who rose again bodily from the dead on the third day. (Luke 23:44, 24:8; John 20:24-29; 1 Corinthians 15:3 - 8)
Who ascended into Heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father. (Luke 22:69; Acts 1:1-9; Colossians 3:1)
Who will return to earth to judge both the living and the dead. (Matthew 24;36-42; John 14:1-3; Acts 1:10-11, 10:39-42; 1 Peter 4:5)
We believe in the Holy Spirit.
Who is an active and operative part of the trinity God. (John 16:5-15, Acts 1:7-8; Romans 8:26-27)
Who dwells in every Christian. (1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19; 2 Timothy 1:14)
We believe in the Bible - God's Holy Word, Scripture
We believe God inspired the original writings of the Scripture and those writings were consequently without error. (Mark 12:36; John 14:26, 16:12-15; Acts 1;16; 1 Corinthians 2:12-13; 2 Timothy 3:14-16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
We accept the Bible as the final authority for all matters of faith and practice. (Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 5:18, 24:35; Romans 15:4; Hebrews 4:12)
We believe the Bible teaches that man, created by God, willfully sinned against God and is consequently lost and with hope apart from Jesus Christ. (Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23)
We believe the Bible teaches that salvation - the forgiveness of sins, is only by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 26:28; Romans 5:9; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 Peter 1:18-19; 1 John 1:7)
We believe the Bible teaches that one receives God's grace by putting faith in Christ, repenting of sin, confessing Christ, and being immersed into Christ. (Romans 5:1-2; Luke 24:45-47; Acts 3:19, 17:30; 2 Peter 3:9; Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:9; Philllipians 2:11; John 4:15; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-7; Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21.
We believe in the Church of Jesus Christ, founded on the Day of Pentecost and consists of all Christians everywhere. (Matthew 16:13-18; Acts 2:14-17)
We believe the Bible teaches that the Elders are to exercise authority over the local congregation. (Acts 20:28; Philippians 1:1; 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4)
